Bio and History
Adam Shipley founded Hep Cat Entertainment in Orlando, FL in 1989. His skills quickly accredited him as a major player in the Central Florida music business scene. He booked talent for The House of Blues Orlando, Walt Disney World, The Beacham Theater, and Sunset Serenades.
Shipley moved to New Orleans in 1998 to book and run Tipitinas, New Orleans legendary music club. He promoted and booked over 200 shows per year during his ten-year tenure.
In 2010, Adam moved over to Preservation Hall, another iconic music institution in New Orleans. He was there for several years, running the iconic jazz venue with great success. As much as he enjoyed his involvement with both Tips and Preservation Hall, his love of autonomy was still nagging at him. He decided to take the leap and focus solely on Hep Cat Entertainment, his full-service independent entertainment company.
After living and working in New Orleans for over twenty-five years, Adam Shipley has established himself as the top resource for music entertainment. His current and past management clients include The Soul Rebels, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Walter Wolfman Washington and Marva Wright. More recent talent buying and event production projects include Hogs For The Cause, Universal Orlando, Ferg’s Pavilion, Emeril Lagasse Foundation, Zurich Classic, and N.O. Jazz & Heritage Fest. He also consults various clubs and festivals. Shipley has worked with artists such as Fats Domino, Robert Plant, Paul McCartney, Irma Thomas, Elton John, Bonnie Raitt, Lenny Kravitz, Tom Petty, Dr. John, B.B. King, Neil Young, Norah Jones, Lucinda Williams, Robbie Robertson, Taj Mahal, Los Lobos, Tom Waits, Jim James, Del McCoury, Ani DiFranco, Pete Seeger, Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile, Richie Havens and Merle Haggard, among others.
