Hep Cat Entertainment Experience

With over 20 years of experience in the music business,
Adam Shipley is a true music business veteran.

Adam started Hep Cat Entertainment in Orlando, FL, in 1989. His talent buying skills quickly made him a major player in Central Florida. Not only was Adam the talent buyer for The Beacham Theater, Sunset Serenades at the Peabody Hotel and The House of Blues, he also single handedly created the first successful blues venue in the region.

In 1998, Adam was offered a chance to move to New Orleans (the city of his dreams) to become the talent buyer for the legendary Tipitina’s. The club had fallen on hard times, and was in serious need of some new energy and organization. Adam helped the club thrive by booking and promoting more than 200 shows a year. He was also instrumental in starting Tipitina’s non-profit arm, “The Tipitina’s Foundation” which provides music education programs for disadvantaged New Orleans youth. As music director of the foundation, Adam produced numerous musical events and recordings including the annual “Instruments-A-Comin” which has become a highlight of the Spring music calendar in the Crescent City and “Goin Home : A Tribute to Fats Domino” on Vanguard Records.

In 2007 Adam left Tipitina’s and began managing Preservation Hall and The Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Since 2010 Adam has been focusing 100% of his energy on Hep Cat Entertainment. He currently manages The Soul Rebels and is buying talent for many festivals and venues including: The Voodoo Music Experience, Harvest The Music, Universal Studios Orlando, and The Ocean Key Resort.
